Feasting

24th December, sees us singing carols, eating mince pies and drinking mulled wine, on the eve of christmas, awaiting the arrival of the christ, at midnight the church bells ring out sending a message, christ is born, he is born today, as we celebrate this moment, personally a feel a shiver go down my spine, t, is this a fear, or is this an acknowledgment that he is here, he is here indeed, for 2,000 years we have celebrated a child born in a manger,a king of kings yet born in humbled circumstances visited by the magi, who were looking for a palace, and found a child born in a stable, after they had followed the star, like jesus a shining bright light, which brought light to a dark world who changed the face of the earth.and who was our saviour.

let us prayer,,We have celebrated this event which is at the very heart of our faith- the coming of christ into our world as the word made flesh God identifying himself with humankind through the birth of jesus in bethlehem,a story we have heard told retold countless times, and in many ways, but yet jesus is the light of the world, and always will be. so as we attend church, sing, make music, like those who attended the first christmas.let us thank god for all we have, and the lives we have,,,,, Amen
